About the class
Classes are lead by experienced fashion and textiles designer Ann Renton.
The course is an introduction to the world of fashion. Students will learn how to construct garments, customise garments and about the fashion industry.
Design and making skills
Students will learn hand and machine sewing skills, pattern cutting, how to produce style boards in the development of a design as well as being introduced to fashion illustration and textile design.
During the course we will visit an exhibition or gallery relevant to the fashion industry.
Students will also be introduced to the workings of the fashion industry: from catwalk to high street, the seasonal fashion cycle, who are the leading fashion designers, how brands work and an introduction to the importance of sustainable fashion.
Each class will be £15 with payment due either termly or half-termly.
